Hey there guys! I am SO EXCITED to shoot a whole ton of families in the next couple months! Everyone loves fresh fall photos & adorable Christmas cards– and I’m here to give you my tips for a stylish & successful family mini session.

First off- I always recommend googling “Fall color palette” or “Christmas color palette” for inspiration on colors on patterns. Aim to keep most pieces in solids while adding a couple prints throughout the group.

Now on to my tips for staying warm:

1. Bring blankets! Before you leave the house snag each of your kids a blanket to wrap up in on the way from the car to meeting me. It may only be a couple minutes before we start shooting, but those warm minutes will keep your kiddos going longer. 
2. Warm clothes- dress in layers! Search for outfits that your kids can wear with long sleeves and extra layers underneath. Cute jackets, oversized sweaters & flannels are your friend! Remember that the best photos are the ones where everyone looks happy and comfortable- so dress for the weather!
3. Don’t forget about shoes! Ditch the ballet flats and find a cute pair of boots.
4. Timing- remind your kiddos that the session is short- only ten more minutes and then we’re going to go warm up! I offer morning and evening sessions as well, so try to book when your kiddos are typically the happiest!
